PROJECT TYPE

Personal project

Haiku Shape is an editorial project developed with Annagiulia Santi during lockdown, exploring traditional Japanese haiku through typography and composition. Conceived as a book, the project remains unpublished.

DESIGN APPROACH

Each poem becomes the starting point for a typographic composition. The arrangement of words, changes in scale and empty space offer a visual interpretation alongside the written verse.

Across the book, typography and spacing establish the reading rhythm, connecting the individual compositions into a sequence.

RECAP

An editorial project developed with Annagiulia Santi during lockdown, based on a selection of traditional Japanese haiku.

The work translates the essential structure of each poem into a visual composition, using typography, rhythm and space to create a second layer of interpretation. The project was conceived as a book and remains, for now, an unpublished edition.
